Triad: white, black, red. Right part of Triptych
2024. Cotton. Mixed Technique. H 90 / W 135 cm. $2,500 (Poster)
The conflict between good and evil forms the foundation of most plots in world literature and folklore, manifesting itself in works of all art forms. It is the eternal struggle between two poles of human existence.
The understanding of good and evil, the definition of boundaries between them, is part of every human destiny.
I, too, attempt to express the concept of good and evil in my new series of works.
"White, Red, Black" – this is the name of my cycle.
This triad is an archetype of human society.
White is always associated with good, with everything that serves to preserve and develop life: light, hope, the future, happiness, optimism, peace.
Black is associated with evil, with everything that hinders or destroys life: war, chaos, disease, death, destruction, suffering, darkness.
Red is blood and power. A force that can bring good and life. A force that can also be evil, bringing death.
But who will win this battle?!
My works in this series are created using a mixed textile technique, combining collage, embroidery, silk painting, and wet wool felting.
